English Language teaching sometimes can be a very tiring activity, since there are so many different aspects of language that should be transfer into learners mind.

Understanding such complicated words and structures will be the obvious barrier for those who study English at an elementary stage (beginners). As the result, they usually get bored in this process.

In such condition, a new method is needed in English language teaching in order to create a more joyful circumstance. Using literary works, in this case can be an

alternative to convert the conceptual atmosphere into factual one.

Language and literary works are like two sides of a coin. Both of them create a mutualism and complementary relation. In such relation, language is the content, meanwhile literary work is its form. Following this analogy, teaching the content (language) can be done through its form (literary work).

In English language teaching for beginners, literary works can help students at least in two main areas, they are: vocabulary building and sentence structure.

Memorizing new vocabularies from an entertaining activity will be more fruitful compared to the conventional way. Meanwhile, understanding complicated structure English sentences can be simplified by using utterances taken from any interesting literary works.
