The development of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) brought with it a methodology which emphasizes a communication in the classroom, pair and group activities, and students’ involvment in the learning process. A conqequece of this was the belief that the teachers’ talk presence in the classroom should be reduced. This paper covers a result of an investigation on an elementary teacher’s strategies in reducing Teacher Talking Time (hereafter is TTT). An analytical descriptive study was done and the data were gathered through observations and interviews. The findings of this study were three teacher’s strategies in reducing TTT: (1) Personalized presentation; (2) Natural Conversation; and (3) Anecdotes. Relating the materials to the students’ experiences in a natural conversation through a contextual learning was considered a good way in minimizing TTT instead of explaining it. Moreover, providing anectodes were designed to entertain and used words with particular care to keep the students interested which consequently encourged them to speak up.
